Seller Guide
How to sell your watch on Dialroom
A plain-language walkthrough of the whole process: creating your listing, verifying your identity, adding photos, setting a price, and getting paid once your watch sells. Most sellers finish the listing itself in under 10 minutes.
Create your account and start a listing
Log in, or create a free account if you’re new to Dialroom. From the Sell on Dialroom page, click Start selling. You’ll answer three quick questions about your selling activity, and we’ll set up your seller profile.
Your seller profile is private by default: buyers see a pseudonym and your verification badges, not your name or contact details. From then on, your seller hub is where you start new listings and track the ones you already have.
Complete identity verification (KYC)
Indian regulations require us to verify the identity of every seller before any money changes hands. It’s part of the listing process, you can complete it any time from Verify your identity in your seller hub. We recommend doing it while you’re putting your listing together, since it takes our team up to 24 hours to review and you’ll want it approved by the time your watch sells.
You’ll need to submit:
- Your PAN number, plus a clear photo of your PAN card
- The front side of your Aadhaar card (or e-Aadhaar)
- A recent bank statement (within the last 90 days) showing your name, account number, and IFSC code, so we know where to send your payout
- Your GSTIN, only if you’re selling as a registered business
Photos or PDFs are both fine. KYC does not hold up your listing, it’s reviewed and made active the same way regardless of where you are with KYC. What it does gate is the sale itself: once a buyer pays, we need your KYC approved before that payment can move to a completed sale and your payout released.
Describe your watch
In the listing wizard, tell us what you’re selling: brand and model name, the reference number (usually printed between the lugs or on the papers), year of manufacture if you know it, and the movement type (automatic, quartz, and so on). Write a short, honest title, buyers see this first in search results.
Then describe its condition: pick a condition grade from brand new/unworn down to fair, add any notes about wear or servicing, and tell us whether the original box and papers are included. Be precise here, buyers expect the condition you describe to match the photos exactly.
Add photos
You can take photos straight from your phone’s camera in the wizard, or pick existing photos from your gallery. Every photo is watermarked with “DIALROOM” and your seller handle before it’s shown publicly; your original files stay private.
How many photos you need depends on your asking price: higher-value watches need fuller photo coverage because they go through a more thorough authentication check. Here’s the minimum for each price band:
| Price band | Minimum photos | What to shoot |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Basic Under ₹5,000 | 4 photos | Dial (face), caseback, side/crown, full frontal |
| Daily Verified ₹5,000 – ₹19,999 | 6 photos | The 4 above, plus bracelet or strap clasp, and the movement |
| Luxe Authenticated ₹20,000 – ₹99,999 | 8 photos | The 6 above, plus a lume shot and a macro of the serial number |
| Luxe Certified ₹1,00,000 and above | 10 photos | The 8 above, plus a bezel close-up and a macro of the dial |
More photos beyond the minimum are always welcome, listings with extra angles (like box & papers, or the strap) tend to sell faster.
Set your price and see your payout
Enter your asking price and the wizard shows you a live pricing benchmark from current market data, so you can see how your price compares to similar watches. As soon as you enter a price, we also show you the exact platform commission and the amount you’ll receive, calculated the same way it will be at the time of sale.
You can also mark your price as open to negotiation. Commission depends on your price band and seller type; the number shown in your listing wizard is always the live, accurate one.
Submit for review
Once every section of the wizard is complete, click Submit for review. Every listing on Dialroom is reviewed by our team before it goes live, usually within 24 hours. You’ll be notified the moment it’s approved and visible to buyers.
If we need any changes, your listing is returned to you with the reason, you can edit it and resubmit as many times as needed at no extra cost.
After it sells
When a buyer purchases your watch, their payment is held securely in escrow, not paid out to you yet. You then ship the watch to our Bengaluru hub, where our team inspects it and, depending on its price band, our authentication partners verify it in person before it ships on to the buyer. Once the watch is delivered and the buyer’s short inspection window closes with no issues raised, escrow releases your payout straight to the bank account you verified during KYC, typically by UPI or NEFT.
